When most of us think of crawling you picture a baby on all fours, moving the opposite hand and leg at the same time. For Lyla her crawl is a bit different. Her hands and left knee are down but then she uses her right leg to push herself around. It's a pretty funny thing to see so I thought I'd share a few pictures. According to Kyle's little sister (little is all relative, she's 24) who tried both ways of crawling, Lyla's method is much quicker than the traditional way of crawling.

About a month and a half ago Lyla figured out how to stand on her own without holding onto anything. This is the first time I saw her standing up by herself. I'm not sure she even realized what she was doing.

Then exactly one month later Lyla took her first steps. It's hard to capture motion in still pictures but I tried my best. She was very proud of herself. So was I!
