a typical day

These days I'm tired. I'm sure part of it has to do with the fact that it's sweltering hot. Part of it has to do with the fact that I'm pregnant. But part of it has to do with an adorable 31" tall little girl named Lyla. Some people say that boys are active but I'd dare to place Lyla up against any boy to see whose more active. :-) She NEVER stops moving. Even at the dinner table her feet are always kicking.

Today I went to my monthly ob appointment. Shouldn't have been difficult. Pee in a cup. Meet with the doctor to make sure I'm doing okay and then we go home. But not today. Within the first 3 minutes of my being there I was ready to go back to bed. :-) The nurse left me (and Lyla) in the bathroom to give my urine sample. I had to pee quite a bit so I peed a little in the cup, put the cup on the back of the toilet where I thought it was out of Lyla's reach and then finished up going to the bathroom. Lyla of course makes a bee line for anything that she shouldn't touch and grabbed for the cup. I reached around trying to take the cup out of her hand, watching urine spill on the toilet, down the wall and onto the floor. Oh dear, this is not good! I quickly finished up, wiped up the toilet, wall and floor, put the urine cup (with what little was left) in the pass-through window and turned around just in time to see Lyla's hand in the toilet! Ugh! Just get me out of here. I quickly grabbed her, washed her hands and put her down with a paper towel to dry her hands. Then I worked to wash my hands. When I turned to get a paper towel I saw it...yep, Lyla's hands BACK in the toilet! I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. I figured it was better to laugh. So once again we washed her hands (I think this was just a ploy of Lyla's to wash her hands...she's developing a little OCD) and then quickly got out of there. Once I met up with the doctor she asked how I was feeling. "Tired" I said and then I told her what had just happened. After laughing she suggested that by the end of my pregnancy I might want to consider hiring help once or twice a week saying that Lyla was such a busy little girl and it might be hard to keep up with her.

No wonder I'm tired! Just another day at our house....

**No pictures were takened during the course of this adventure for the sake of not wanting to relive those 5 minutes! :-)

  1. I really think that may be worse than when I got locked in the toilet stall with Hunter at 6 mos. pregnant and had to crawl under. Isn't life's adventure fun!!!
