first real harvest
Ahhh, July. Got to love July. July is the start of when the produce is ready be harvested and it continues all the way until fall. Aside from the strawberries and a little bit of lettuce we had in late May/early June, we just got our first good crop in. There were a few cherry tomatoes, a huge basket of green beans and at least one carrot. The carrot is a little short but very full in size. I wasn't sure if I should pick it or let it continue to grow so I went with the first option and picked it. Tonight I'll consult with Kyle to decide if we need to harvest any more of them or if we should just wait. Either way, I love this time of year when we get to see the results from a little effort of planting seeds and a few starter plants.
