fun in the sun

For the past 4 years we have gone down to Florida with some friends of ours. We had a great time soaking up the sun, playing in the waves, building sandcastles and golfing. This year proved to be a little more interesting with us having three children but we still had fun. Here are a few pictures of our trip:

Kyle, Lyla and I all took turns driving... :-)

This is Lyla's first experience in the ocean. You can see she boldly walked into the water but then got a little nervous once Kyle dipped her in. She loved the pool and the sand but she was only so-so on the ocean. By the end she started to like it a bit more. I'm sure by next year she'll love it! We hope so at least.

This is Parker, our friends son. He loved jumping into the pool. Thank goodness for floaties!

We've heard that in infant swim lessons you dunk your baby under the water so Kyle decided to try it with Lyla. She didn't seem to mind it a bit.

Part 1: Since Parker and Hayley are older and more experienced and Lyla isn't around other kids that often, they decided to teach Lyla a thing or two. Here Hayley is trying to teach Lyla how to poke at a friends eye....

Part 2: Later in the day Lyla decided finally give the eye poking a try.

Part 3: Eye poking skill... check.

Here we are: Lyla, Kyle and I with Justin, Chris, Parker and Hayley.

What I didn't get on camera was this wave knocking Lyla over and her screaming loudly.
By the end I think we all were exhausted. But we had a really good time catching up with some close friends.
